"奈良" Nara, Nara prefecture. The pennant depicts the Mt. Wakakusa Yamayaki （burning a mountain）, one of Nara's representative events held every year in late January. Wakakusa Yamayaki, which is meant to repose the souls of the ancient tombs on the mountain and to drive away evil spirits. Length 61cm (24.0in). 奈良 (柳生) お土産ペナント 1970年代 20250609
「奈良」(奈良県) 奈良市東部の #柳生 町（やぎゅう-）。江戸時代初期に立藩した大和国柳生藩、剣豪で知られる柳生石舟斎（～せきしゅうさい）,宗矩（むねのり）,三巌（みつよし, 十兵衛）の三代は特に有名。 これは奈良公園と隻眼（せきがん）の特徴により十兵衛を描く作品。旅姿から諸国を渡って剣術を学んだという説話の由来だろうか。ちなみに、映画「柳生一族の陰謀」のヒットは1978年（昭和53年）。全長62.5cm。 [1970～80年代/ #昭和100年 ] 【画像の説明】 1, 奈良、柳生のペナント。濃紺の布にイラストをプリント。黄色いモール装飾付き。 2, イラストは奈良公園の景色と柳生十兵衛。 3, イラストの拡大。奈良公園は猿沢池と興福寺の五重塔のお馴染みの景色。十兵衛は隻眼の旅姿で、映画「柳生一族の陰謀」（1978年）のティザービジュアルに一致する。キャプションは "剣豪柳生の里" （白）。 4, タイトルは和文。丸いゴシック体の漢字で "奈良" （赤）。キャプションは英文で "SIGHTSEEING" （白）。 ----------------------------------------------------- Souvenir #pennant in Japan, my collection. Yagyu-cho Town is known for having produced three generations of the Yagyu family, known as great swordsmen in the 16th and 17th centuries. This pennant depicts the swordsman Jubei Yagyu.
